Spend the Summer at Pennfield

We have a fun-filled lineup of programs for children ages 3-14! Designed to provide new experiences and exciting learning opportunities, there is something for everyone: science, sustainability, outdoor games, performing & visual arts, exploring nature, and just plain fun!

Drop off begins at 8:30 a.m., and camp instruction starts at 9:00 a.m. each morning. Pick up for kiddie camps (ages 3-5) is at 1:00 p.m. with an option to extend the day to 3:00 p.m. All other camps end at 3:00 p.m.

Week 1: June 23-27

Kiddie Camp – Camping: ages 3-5

NEED DESCRIPTION (Instructors: Sarah Evans & Natalie Johnson)

Let’s Get Cooking 1: grades 1-3

Students will learn to cook and make healthy snacks, desserts , and meals for the summer season.  (Cooking with  known allergies will be adjusted based on students who attend. )

NEED MEGANS CAMP: grades 1-3

Explore the performing arts with Creative Campers! From music-making to dance moves and artistic creations, unleash your creativity. Showcase your talents at the end of the week and celebrate a journey of artistic discovery! (Instructor: Meghan Bonin)

Bushcraft – Summer Surviver: grades 3-7

Ignite your inner adventurer in the ultimate exploration camp! Campers will dive into essential survival skills, including foraging for resources, building fires, and constructing shelters, all while learning to thrive in the great outdoors. In this exciting and interactive experience, participants will form clans to compete in friendly challenges, showcasing teamwork, creativity, and resilience. Comfortable clothing and sturdy footwear are essential as kids navigate hands-on activities and outdoor adventures. Whether you’re a budding survivalist or just looking to have fun in nature, Bushcraft: Summer Survivor promises an unforgettable journey!

Please Note: This camp requires strong listening skills, responsibility, determination and a can-do attitude. Participants need to be able to stay with the group on 2-3 mile hikes. (Instructors: Veronica Hardy and Sam Schreiber)

Make “space” this summer for science, crafts, and fun! Campers will explore the solar system and real life space explorations as they create “out of this world” projects, play games, and make discoveries. (Instructor: Meghan Bonin)

Magical Animation Celebration: grades 1-4

Celebrate and learn the secrets behind some of your favorite animated movies. We’ll dive into the magic and artistry that bring stories to life on the big screen. (Instructor: Jenna Monell)

Gone Fishing: grades 5-8

Come join Mr. Schreiber at Sandy Point for days packed full of bottom fishing. We will focus on techniques and tricks to catch some of the most finicky fish of the northeast.  Learn how to jig on a pier or toss a popper for a chance at bluefish… the possibilities are endless! Campers will need a rod and reel and should be able to hike to the pier. Bait and jigs will be supplied. (Instructor: Sam Schreiber)

Week 4: July 14-18

Kiddie Camp – Earth Day, Every Day: ages 3-5

NEW! Act Out – 3 Week Theatre Experience: grades 1-3

The curtain is rising on a new theater camp this year! Campers will stretch their imagination and creativity during this 3 week camp. Campers will immerse themselves in the world of theater, learning fundamental techniques and skills. Through engaging activities and rehearsals, they’ll bring their creativity to life, culminating in a captivating performance of a short play on the final day. Join us for an unforgettable journey of self-expression, teamwork, and the magic of the stage! (Instructor: Alexis Gibbs)

Animated Friends Adventure: grades 1-3

Join us for a week of wonder and imagination! From captivating crafts featuring favorite animated characters to spirited team-building exercises, each day is filled with themed excitement. Begin the week by creating magical mouse ears, and end the week with a Fun Friday featuring a beloved movie chosen by the campers. (Instructor: Meghan Bonin)

Be an Artist Everyday: grades 2-5

Discover your inner artist! Learn art from and create something new each day while learning about some of the art masters from around the world. Have fun learning art techniques with a variety of unique art materials. (Instructor: Blayney Norton-Hayes)

Gone Fishing: grades 4-8

Come join Mr. Schreiber at Sandy Point for days packed full of bottom fishing. We will focus on techniques and tricks to catch some of the most finicky fish of the northeast.  Learn how to jig on a pier or toss a popper for a chance at bluefish… the possibilities are endless! Let’s chill out and enjoy a week filled with frosty fun! Children will be engaged through storytelling, arts and crafts, and outdoor games. All children must be potty trained. (Instructors: Karen Lambert & Natalie Johnson)

Force and Motion Lego Lab: grades 1-2

From defining problems to brainstorming innovative solutions, children will explore forces and motion while unleashing their creativity with Lego bricks. Campers will embark on exciting building challenges and conduct investigations about the cause and effect of push and pull forces. Join us for a week of hands-on exploration, collaborative building, and endless fun! (Instructor: Shannon D’Eramo)

Join us for a week of exploration and discovery! Through outdoor exploration, campers will observe and describe life in different habitats, understanding how conditions foster survival. They’ll also compare these habitats to their own, gaining a deeper appreciation for the diverse ecosystems around them. (Instructor: Meghan Bonin)

Out of This World: grades 1-4

Unleash your inner champion this Olympics-themed camp! Campers will be divided into teams and compete in a series of exhilarating activities, including Minute to Win It games, scavenger hunts, and more. The goal? To ascend the podium and claim victory for your team! (Instructor: Kaylee Jackson)

Week 7: August 4-8

Garden Explorers: grades 1-4

Get ready to cultivate friendships and grow your love for the natural world in this exciting botanical exploration! Campers will discover the magic of nature as they explore different types of plants and flowers through engaging activities and crafts. From seed planting to floral artistry, every day promises new discoveries and hands-on experiences that inspire curiosity and creativity. (Instructor: Jenna Monell)
